Inside the Business Vault: Tips, Stories + Tools to Grow Smarter
At Future Rich Aunties, our mission is rooted in helping Black and Brown women build wealth, lead boldly, and open doors for others. That mission came to life recently through a strategic partnership with the Mid-Carolina Workforce Development Board (MCWDB) and their District C Teamship Program—an innovative workforce initiative that gives young people real-world problem-solving experience by pairing them with local businesses.
This partnership aligned perfectly with FRA’s focus on entrepreneurship, leadership, and mentorship. Through this collaboration, several FRA members were matched with high school and college-aged interns who participated in the Teamship program. These students worked directly with business owners, gaining practical skills and insight, while contributing to real business outcomes.
We’re proud to highlight the FRA members who took part in the program and served as business partners:
Sylvia Glanton of Personameant Solutions welcomed 5 interns into her company, which is committed to helping individuals and small businesses grow financially and operate more efficiently. The interns supported ongoing projects in operational consulting, and community outreach.
Hadassah Eley of CME Strategies brought on 2 interns to support her business diagnostic and innovation services. Interns worked closely with Hadassah in understanding business assessments, strategy development, and real-time client challenges.
Nisla Love of Choose Love Solutions hosted 1 intern, giving them hands-on experience in tax preparation and planning services tailored for professionals, and business owners. The intern helped support back-end processes while learning the intricacies of financial compliance.
Jelissa Thomas of D3 Delivery brought in 2 interns who worked in logistics, customer service, and operational support. Interns got to see what it truly takes to run a people-first service business.
Amanda Clifton of Country Time Transit hosted 1 intern, providing them with firsthand experience in the non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) field. With a strong focus on safety, comfort, and reliability, the intern gained valuable exposure to community-centered care and transportation logistics. Amanda also secured a transportation contract as a direct result of connections made through the Teamship experience marking a major turning point in her business journey and serving as a powerful example of the economic ripple effect created through access and collaboration.
This partnership is a perfect example of what happens when workforce innovation meets grassroots leadership. The District C Teamship Program, supported by MCWDB, equips students with 21st-century skills while giving local entrepreneurs meaningful support and visibility. FRA is proud to be a bridge in that process.
As we continue our mission, we’re committed to expanding partnerships like this ones that build leadership pipelines, foster real collaboration, and support our members in creating lasting impact.
